3. BTE Discord Roles

In this section, we will explain all the roles of the BTE Discord. Here you find what each role does, what perks come with it and how you can obtain the role.

3.1. Staff

3.1.1. Author

The author of the BTE project is PippenFTS. He has all permissions on the Discord and the last word for critical decisions There is no possibility to obtain the author role. Do not DM him or ping the role.

3.1.2. Admin

This role has all permissions, they oversee all managerial staff and put out announcements and changes to the Discord server. Admins are long-term, trustworthy staff members and are named by the Author. Do not DM the admins unless it is extremely important.

3.1.3. Team Manager

Team Managers are leaders of the different staff branches. They have nearly all permissions on the Discord and help to make things run smoothly. They focus on their sub-team and help the team members to work efficiently by distributing task and relaying information to the teams. The team managers are chosen from the respective staff team by the Admins and go through a trial period.

Support Manager

The Support Manager is the head of support. They oversee the Support role and work with them to create support materials.

Build Team Manager

Head of the Build Teams and reviews build team applications.

Review Manager

Manages the review team. Reads over review applications.

Moderation Manager

Manages the moderation team and other staff roles.

PR Manager

Oversees the PR staff and PR materials.

Content Creation Manager

Oversees all content creators and streamers.

Community Manager

Gathers community feedback. If you have any concerns about this, @gutterguy [Community Manager] is the right person to talk to.

Internal Team Manager

Manages and implements staff feedback and suggestions.

Minigames Manager

Organizes the creation of a minigames server.

3.1.4. Moderator

This role helps enforce the rules on the server and moderates users. They can ban, mute and warn people in the Discord.

To become a Moderator you have to first go through a 3 week trial period as a Helper.

3.1.4.1. Moderator on Duty

Not all moderators are on duty at the same time. The moderation team works in shifts. Please ping the @Moderator on Duty role if you need help in the chats!

3.1.5. Helper

Helps the Moderators fulfil their duties. They can mute and warn people. Helpers are moderators on trial after three weeks they are either promoted to Moderator, demoted or their trial is extended.

3.1.6. Wizards

These staffs do a range of general stuff that doesn’t fit into any of the other roles. Most of them have something to do with the mod or modpack.

3.1.7. Web Developer

Created and maintains the website.

3.1.8. Regional Build Team Manager (RBTL)

Reviews Build Team applications and provides support for those teams. Their main job is to relay information from the BTE staff to the individual build teams. There is no direct way to apply to become an RBTL. They are either promoted from the other staff ranks or we offer the position to staff applicants that seem to have the right skills.

3.1.9. Support

Provides support for the modpack, Minecraft issues or the project in the support channel. They also write support documentation like this Wiki and the Builders Guidebook.

What we look for: People that like to help others. Some technical knowledge can be helpful.

3.1.9.1. Support on Duty

Not all Support are on duty at the same time. Please ping the @Support on Duty role if you need help in the support channel!

3.1.10. Bedrock Team

Helps with BTE Bedrock support and terrain generation. They handle region requests for the Bedrock side of the project.

3.1.10.1. Bedrock Team on Duty

Not all Bedrock Team staff are on duty at the same time. Please ping the @Bedrock Team on Duty role if you need any help with Bedrock support!

3.1.11. Public Relations (PR)

They’re in charge of Public Relations and help promote the project. They control all official social media channels, create Youtube Videos, translate the website and documentation and perform outreach activities.

What we look for: The PR team needs many different types of people.

3.2. Non-Staff roles

3.2.1. Reviewer

These guys review for building applications to make sure we get quality content. Being a Reviewer is also a good test phase to becoming a full staff member because we get to know you a bit better.

What we look for: You should have some good building skills in Minecraft.

3.2.2. Patreons

These people help the project by donating on Patreon. To get this role you have to connect Patreon to your Discord account. Here is what you get for becoming a Patron:

3.2.3. Verified Content Creator

Content creators are BTE ambassadors who create official BTE Videos and streams in partnership with the server. They are allowed to advertise their videos and other content on the server.

To become a Verified Content Creator make sure to be actively building and create BTE related content and apply here Creator Application.

3.2.4. Verified Streamer

Verified streamers are Verified Content Creators that produce streams. They are allowed to post their streams in the #verified-streams channel.

3.2.5. Influencer

Very similar to Verified Content Creator and Verified Streamer but with more than 10,000 Subscribers. You will get this role when you are applying to become a Content Creator: Creator Application

3.2.6. Donator

3.2.7. Team Owner

These are builders that are also the initiators/owners of a build team. They are the people to ask if you want to join a specific build team and run into trouble. You can obtain this role by founding an official build team.

3.2.8. Builder

These are the verified builders of the BTE project. Everybody can become a builder. You just need to apply on the website to become a builder.

3.2.9. Youtube Subtitles

The Youtube Subtitles role is given to people that help to translate all BTE youtube videos into different languages.

3.2.10. Former Staff

These people are former staff members. Staff is not a lifetime job and sometimes members of the staff have to resign from their roles to focus on other things in life. Former staff members can be helpful in many ways and might become staff again after when they have more time again.

3.3. Reward roles

Reward roles are obtained by being active on the Discord. Each message you write counts towards your rank.

3.3.1. Member

Obtained at Level 3

Allows access to the #staff-introductions channel.

3.3.2. #memes-role

Obtained at Level 5

Allows access to the #memes channel.

3.3.3. #music-role

Obtained at Level 8

Allows access to the #music channel and the Music voice channel.

3.3.4. #minigames-role

Obtained at Level 10

Provides access to the #minigames channel.

3.3.5. #pictures-role

Obtained at Level 15

Provides access to the #pictures channel.

3.3.6. Veteran

Obtained at level 20

Provides access to the #veteran⚔ channel. The role also gives you permissions to change your own nickname. The Veteran role is colored in a way that new people might mistake you for a Moderator. Just keep that in mind.

3.4. Subscription roles

Subscription roles can be obtained by clicking specific reactions in the discord. You can unsubscribe from these roles be clicking the reaction again (“unreacting”).

3.4.1. PipNotifs

Gets notified whenever PippenFTS uploads a new video.

Subscribe by clicking the bell reaction under the PipNotifs message.

3.4.2. Notifications

Gets notified for announcements regarding the discord server.

Subscribe by clicking the bell reaction under the Notifications message.

3.4.3. Suggestions

Enables you to write in the #suggestions and the #suggestions-discussion channel.

Subscribe to this role by reacting to this suggestions message.

3.4.4. Language roles

The language roles enable you to enter the language-specific chats.

Subscribe to any language in the #welcome channel

3.5. Other

3.5.1. Muted

This role is given to people that broke the rules of the Discord by Moderators or Helpers. It is automatically revoked after the punishment runs out. People with this role cannot write in any channel.

3.5.2. DJ

Has control over the Groovy bot in the music channel without having to rely on the majority vote. This role is reserved for staff members.

3.5.3. Bot

This role signifies a non-human. This can either be a bot or a staff member that decides that their level of insomnia has reached inhuman levels and additionally has the permission to give the role to themselves.
